I bought a 95 Q three weeks ago. After a couple days I found this site and after reading all the posts. I heard the dreaded whine or hum from the trunk area. Had to replace the fuel pump. I also replaced the rack and pinion boots up front, changed front pads. checked trans fluid drained what I could get out and replaced with 4 qts of dexron III. The car runs good has 137,000 miles, interior is in excellent shape. Found the warranty book and the owner leased the car and then bought it after 60,000 miles. So all the records up to that point were in the book. Plan on removing the trans pan and cleaning the magnets and cleaning the screen or does it have a filter. Could not find a repair manual in book form like I have for my other cars. I purchased a disc with alot of good stuff but I would like a book but the ones I have found are 200 bucks. Ouch. Does anyone know where to fin one. I love the car, gets 23 on the road 20 around the house and handles good for a sedan. I traded my Maxima for the Q because over the years the Nissan product has been good for me. My 280 ZX had over 300k when I sold it and it was like new. I tend to pamper my rides because i like to tinker and explore the mechanical aspect of cars, bikes ect.

Thanks for the good info, Mark

Free FSM at http://www.phatg20.net TSB and FWM at http://www.nissan-techinfo.com/infiniti/ for a one day subscription fee in Adobe Acrobat format so you can print as needed.

Transmission screen must be replaced as you will read, along with gasket, one time use bolts, and I think crush washer.

You'll love working on the car and will soon be able to curse fluently in Gaijin inflected Japanese.
