New Guy Here! I'm taking delivery of a '92 coupe (16v,5 speed) in 2 days, and was wondering if there is anything I should be on the look out for. She's got 118,000 miles on her and she's bone stock and seems to be in great shape.

The only real issue I had was during the test drive, she seemed way down on power, so much so that I pulled over and called the dealer to ask if they knew what might be going on. He told me that they had done nothing to the engine but take it to the detailer and have it cleaned up. That got my curiousity going, so I popped the hood and gave her a once over. Turns out the rear cylinder injector was unplugged. Plugged it back in and took off, feeling better with much more power!

The drivers side window (manual) is very hard to roll down too. Is this common? Easy to fix?

I'm coming off a steady diet of domestics, but I've had enough of that scene, and I did NOT want a Honda. I've always liked the looks of the 240, especially the coupe, so it seemed like the right thing to do.

Thanks for any help ya'll can give!

Bryan

Welcome to the board! Good job on getting a coupe. It shows that you have some good taste. I dunno what's up with your driver's side window. Mine goes up and down easily enough. The only thing that bugs me is if it's more than a quarter of the way down and I shut the door, the window sways back and forth and sounds like it's gonna snap in half.

the manual window thing is bad...have it looked at before it stops moving at all. The passenger window in my coupe was kinda hard to roll up and down, then one day it stopped. It can roll down and inch, and back up an inch..that's it. I'm afraid if I pull on the handle more, it'll break. I can't figure out what's wrong with it, and there's no room to work on the mechanism inside the door. congrats on your purchase

Thanks! I don't know what it is about the coupe, just moves me! LOL!

This window sways pretty good too. I can get it down about half way before it gets too hard to roll any farther. Feels like it's actually hitting on something, and doesn't wqant to go any farther. I'll get the door panel off when I pick her up and check itout closer. Maybe it just needs some grease!

That's exactly what it feels like, but it'll come down a little farther than an inch. It does feel like it will break something if you try to force it. I'll get the door panel off when I pick her up and check it out.

I haven't played it yet (I'm a first person shooter gamer), but it's on the server at work. I'll check it out tomorrow!

that window thing: bad.mine did the same thing, then only moved an inch, then stopped completely. turns out the wire spool that moves the glass frayed and jammed. u need a new regulator. ppl sell them here and there for like 30 bucks. take off the door panel, remove the glass, remove the regulator. then reassemble. -Enzo

That's what I figured. Looks like I'll be doing a little junkyard scrounging when it warms up!

I'm right on the Hurst/Euless line, off Highway 10. I'll have to check out Nissan Heaven. I should get the car tomorrow if all goes well at the dealer. They were still appologizing for leaving the injector harness unhooked! LOL!

BTW, got any idea how the dash comes apart? The top piece (hard plastic) is cracked in a couple of places (Damn Texas Sun!), and it needs to be replaced (or covered).

I figured that cable was frayed/broken. someone on here suggested that, but I could never get in there to tell. I guess I'll hit car-part for a window regulator. thanks
