Yo I've heard from some random source that them KA motors are pretty decent and do well with a turbo(who would have ever thought)The craziest thing: it can be had for cheaper! When I heard this I couldn't beleive it

Yes I did post this on NWN and attended the Federal Way mini meet too. As for turbo on the KA that is in very far future after some more simple mods are installed. No engine swap but turbo I shall do. The KA are pretty good for turbo and cost alot less, here is a website totally for turbocharging the KA24E/KA24DE engines: http://www.ka-t.org/

Check it out and some of the featured cars, you will be blown away!

I feel your pain there man..I would love to find a decent deal on a Kouki....or on anything for that matter. I am wanting another 240 or a maxima..cant find a good deal on either..I will eventually have both..hopefully..but I have my heart set on an S14 as a 2nd 240.

Oh, and to keep kind of on topic..good find and.. KA-T all the way!!!

Well here is how I found it, I had searched a lot of websites (Autotrader, Cars.com, Ebay, even Northwest Nissans website since I live in Washington) as well as local dealerships with no luck. Most 240's where selling with over 100k miles and the price I paid for my S14. I happened to find this car on a newly launched car selling site which a local station TV created several months ago. The gentlemen who sold me the car probably never heard of or did not want to pay to list the car on the more popular sites like Autotrader and Cars.com so he posted it for free on a site he most likely saw advertised on the TV station that created it. I had been looking for a car for almost 2 months and came close to buying 2 other cars which fell through. Glady the best deal is the one I bought into

Good luck in your searches!

Great find.... Mine has less miles :P [but I paid more than you did ]. Glad to see you waited instead of getting the car you posted about in your other thread.

Less mileage than 18k! :o How much do you have and mind me asking how much you roughly paid?

Since everyone seems to be on for turbo I thought I would do a search for which turbo kits sell for. The only one I could find is Greddy S14 KA24DE TD06 Bolt On Turbo Kit (Greddy TD06 non-intercooled bolt on turbo kit for S14 KA24DE 1995-98 240SX) for $2699 at http://www.enjukuracing.com/ which seems look since it would be more of a sleeper without the intercooler. Said to give 6psi boost with 225hp it includes:

"Kit comes with: * Cast Manifold * Greddy TD06 turbocharger (w/internal actuator) * Greddy E-Managed System (Base Map) * High flow top feed fuel rail * Greddy top feed Denso 370cc injectors * Greddy downpipe * Greddy Airnix filter * All polished pipings and accessories for install The kit is designed to run 6psi of boost, rated to push out around 225hp on the motor depending on ones setup."

Is that what everyone with KA-T uses?

Also I know the price is for the kit is $2700 but what about install (could I do it myself? Don't know much about turbo but have done shocks/springs, exhaust, and some minor engine work), and all the other stuff needed cost me? It would run me near $3k right?

Thanks

EDIT: Wanted to mention that my GS comes with 225 hp stock lol ....

If you can find a good Shop around you. I am petty sure they can build you a KA-T for less then 2G install.

DAMN with that sig I believe you 110% But I live in Washington and tune shops here are limited. I have heard of some but the most popular which is CarNutz is a stupid monopoly charging almost anything. When I needed my L-Tuned springs/shocks installed in the Lexus they wanted $400 bucks for install only!, so I did it myself and not only saved the $ but learned how to do it and earned that extra pride. Is that what you paid for the T28 turbo? thanks

P.S. If I could find a shop here to build/install the turbo for $2k I would do it next day!

Congrats on the great find. And may I be the first to say thank you for doing research, it saves everyone a headache. You seem to be getting off on a good start with your new toy.

574-240sx - keep in mind that I work full time and go to college full time, and today I have a Econ midterm LOL. I will have them up soon

Tulsa_S-13 - thanks! I guess I already have the luxury weekend car (lexus) and always wanted a fast sports car so I wanted it to be perfect. So far looks like I made the right decision ... now all remains is fixing that darn oil leak and hoping it's not the cover that is leaking (quoted $1500 to fix at Nissan dealership)

TOPSECRT88 - While it looks great $3500 is out of my price range. Ideally no more than $3k completed.

patrick10 - Noted. Greddy kit = garbage.

Thanks
