Hey first post on this forum. I lurked while looking for a used Quest and was really surprised at the lack of info. Have owned a Subaru and a Tacoma and forums are full of info, how-tos and mods. Not complaining, because I guess a lot of mini-van owners are busy being parents instead of gearheads -- good to set priorities!

I bought the Quest because I retired and wanted a big storage box to travel the country in -- more useful and versatile than a pickup and can tow more than a 4cyl. Subaru. So am liking the Quest so far. But I am dismayed at the lack of even basic info on how to do basic maintenance or how to remove door panels, update or trouble-shoot audio, etc.

So I bought the full service manual from Nissan after looking through the partial manual posted on this site. It was $210  but it is complete and has the HERE'S HOW YOU TAKE THIS APART, HERE'S HOW YOU DO THIS PROCEDURE passages that are missing in the partial post.

So, my list of things to do are CVT fluid replacement, oil change, brake and power steering fluid change, speaker upgrades and addition of a sub-woofer. I've already installed a trailer hitch and can document that if there are requests for it.

If questions are posted that I can help with, will be glad to with photos or diagrams from the manual.

I want to modify my 2012 Quest so that my wife can make changes to NAV while driving, but I can't find the pertinent service manual. This site has the 2014 (http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Quest/2014%20Quest/ip.pdf), though, so I was wondering if that looks the same as the Instrument Panel section of the 2011. If so, then I could assume that the 2014 manual would work for me. Could you check? Thanks!

I just bought a 2012 and would be interested in your installation of the trailer hitch... we have a tandem kayak that we'd rather pull on a lightweight trailer than hoist onto the roof... the max weight is 100 lb and the tandem is close to 80 already!

Also, there's not any way to share the section on the front brakes, is there? We get some vibration when stopping. There was some pitting where the parking brake had been applied, and dealership assured me that's what it was, but I'm suspecting rotors.

Answering my own question, NICO club makes the service manual available here! I just found the section on brakes (BR) and I'm sure I'll come back often.

I'm still interested in your experience with installing the tow hitch, and since it's been almost a month, your first experience towing with the CVT. Was there anything else you did? Extra transmission cooler, etc?
