Post

I recently bought a 2010 M35x and may have caught the modding bug. Just had the windows tinted and installed the Element 114 exhaust this past weekend.

I've been trying to read through and see what else I can do for performance/mpg... any suggestions?

My notes/thoughts so far:
- CAI: Maybe not, since it looks like stock is the way to go.
- K&N Drop in: Maybe? Will it be detrimental to the MAF sensor as I've been reading? If so, would OEM be best?
- No turbo.
- Not performance related - but I want to eventually lower the car. What is the best way to go about this?

I am trying to be as "economical" as possible (not spend $700 for 2 HP). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

1) I wouldn't get a CAI. Get a Z-Tube (intake tubing from a 350Z).
2) I wouldn't get an oil filter either. Go with a nice high quality paper filter.
3)To lower the car, best bet is coilovers although many people go with springs. Best bang-for-buck coilovers are D2 Racing or BC Racing (I am about to receive my BC Racing coilovers tomorrow and will be installing this weekend). Both sets run around $950-$1,000.

Thanks for the reply.

1. Where can I get a Z tube that will fit? Thoughts on this? http://www.stillen.com/product/intake-k ... dji1vutcn2

3. Yeah I'm either looking at the D2's or springs depending on how much I want to spend. I also plan on getting 19's or 20's too... love the look some members here have with the 20's.

Any other suggestions on worthwhile things I can do (before UpRev) to increase performance and/or mpg?

Thanks. Yeah I've been looking at a Y-pipe and possibly a z tube. Other than that it looks like there isn't a whole lot more I can do.

That Z-Tube would work, I got mine on EBay though. I desperately need to find the couplers as mine are ripped and now duct taped lol.
