Bottom end problems

So the shop that my car is at is telling me that my bottom end is very noisy and the bearings need replaced. ive been having a stalling issue and they told me that the timing is being throw off because of this. they want to rebuild the bottom end. I'm not that mechanically enclined and dont mind spendin the money if this is the issue. Rather pay to rebuild the bottom end than blow my motor. but i want to make sure they arent tryin to make a buck off me either. Any one have any suggestions

never heard of such tell. bearings would cause the noise but i havent heard of it advancing or retarding the time.

SR's have knock sensors that read vibration and translate that to a voltage signal and then sends the signal to the ecu the ecu will try to correct the prob thru timing and fuel as if it were detonation accuring.
