So I finally wired my ca harness into the ka harness and the car cranks but doesnt turn over. I looked at the ecu to see if something had happened to it (because my old harness melted after my tires ate through it 4 days after owning the car ) And both the lights are on all the time. I turned the diagnostic thing on the side of it to see if it would tell me what was up, but nothing happens, no blinking, they just stay lit all the time. anyone know whats up? Im so tired of messing with wiring because this is my first time so its annoying not knowing what it might be or even knowing where to start! Thanks guys

When the key is in ACC it should start flashing to show you all the different modes, if thats not happening something is wrong. You could try swapping in another ECU or re checking your wiring.

Thats where you need to start, unfortunately you need to start eliminating possibilities. Is it getting spark? Fuel? Why is it not starting? Fuses?

Hope this helps man

Thanks Ill try that. I just rechecked to see if anything happens when I turn it to acc. Just noticed the both led lights (green/red) are on all the time. Even when the key isnt in the ignition. The car is getting fuel, spark, and all plugs were looked over again and again. So frustrating! I think it may be my ecu.

Oh and I checked all my fuses... all perfect

Those lights should flash for sure once put in ACC and they sure definitely should turn off once the ignition is off.

IMO your wiring is messed, i'd start there. I've been through 2 cooked ECU's and i've been able to get in to diagnostic mode no problem each time on the bad ECU's.

Good luck

Can a wiring guru please tell me whats wrong??? I just got money for christmas and I dont want to spend it on fixing my car!!!!

If some wires are not needed (like when switching to ka plugs) would leaving them in do something or would they just not do anything?

So would not having the o2 sensor hooked up affect starting the car?

Ok so now my fuel pump turns on, which is good. my led lights on my ecu are off when the car is off now. But they are both on when i turn the car on... is that normal? I can now get into diagnostic mode and its code 13 Engine temperature sensor circuit Wiring fault etc., sensor, ECU Engine stalls, lack of power, low economy. What could that mean?
