Hey all-

Experienced an odd problem this evening. My QX4 sat for almost two weeks without being driven and when I tried to start it earlier this afternoon the battery was apparently run down to a little over 3 volts. I connected up my charger and put it on fast charge but after 4 hours the battery only got up to 5.5 volt so to start it I had to use a my mini jumper pack that has a boost mode for when the battery is nearly dead. I noticed that when I came outside before sunset the headlamps were on while it was charging which seemed odd, since I had the HL switch set to DRL mode. I disconnected the charger and connected my power pack and the car started but both headlamps went out immediately and they won't come back on. High beams work though. Could I have blown both low beams by jump starting it?

If the daytime running light mode turns on the low beams with reduced power, like other vehicles I am aware of, then yes. You probably blew out the low beam filaments in your headlight bulbs with a power surge when you jumped the battery, having your lights on at the same time.

That's what happened. Finally got to pull the bulbs and they were fried. Thanks!
