Searched NICO, didn't find anything particularly relevant, as I imagine most people aren't stupid enough to botch a jump start. Anyhow.

A few days ago I left my parking lights on and didn't notice (I came out from a parking garage into daylight), and I hadn't jumped a car in three years. Neither did the guy who jumped me. So we botched the jump (reversed polarity on my battery) and now half of my electricals are dead.

The air bag light is on, dome/map lights are dead, audio is out, power locks only open doors, seat belt light stays on way too long, and the car sometimes engages power shifting without anyone touching the switch. But as far as I can tell, everything else still works...

Power seats, sun roof, headlights/brake lights, fog lights, car starts/runs just as well as before, power windows. I checked the fuse boxes, everything looks okay. Couldn't find any blown fuses.

Any ideas? I'm thinking about bringing it to a Nissan dealer (the nearest Infiniti dealer is 90 miles away) tomorrow. I want to bring the car back to its near-perfect condition.

Man, only a gulati I guess! (red=black?) Just kidding

Anyway, it SHOULD have blown one of the master fuses... the big ones under the hood.... That certainly what it sounds like to me.... Fuses are there for a reason, so that they dont take out [expensive] electrical parts!

I would double check and maybe go ahead and replace your 2 main fuses under the hood... Theyll be in the engine compartment box, and should be really close to each other. The ones on the Q are white/blue and have a see thru glass thing. Sometimes fuses are bad, even if they APPEAR to be good! They shouldnt be expensive and sure are easy to fix! I think its best to start with simple things, even if they may not do anything, just in case.

I was thinking you'd have more problems than just electrical if you're jumping the damn thing...

It appears he just left some lights on, and jumped it this once.

dear Wes,

I looked at my map light fuse two or three times earlier and didn't notice the small break that Jesda did see. Replaced the fuse, fixed everything. Thanks.

FYI,For safety reasons, connect at least one of the black jumpers to the frame away from the battery, not the battery post! 1990Q45'r

Some tard took an 80 amp flat buss-type fuse and soldered it on to two connectors that slide into the socket. It works fine and is perfectly sturdy where it is, so we didnt change it. I cant believe someone would do that instead of just buying a proper fuse.
