Im looking for a boston area performance shop that can get sr20det's or ca18det. Providence is also an option, its not much further away from me. Also, has anyone ever tried ordering a jdm engine from the nissan dealer?thanks

It just depends on which vendor and how much $ in your back pocket.

Nissan dealers most likely do not sell JDM motors, and don't bother them about anything JDM related.

The big 4:

There is much praise about these companies, quality product at a fair price. I have personally bought stuff from all 4 and they were great to deal with. I bought my motor from heavythrottle.

Well if you can't cope with an engine coming in the mail, have it shipped to a shop of your choosing.

And why would a shop buy an engine, just so you can test it? What if the engine is not to your liking? They eat the shipping costs and buy you another one....go figure.

So if you don't have the time/money to rebuild an engine, how do you come up with the $3k to buy an engine in the first place?!?

You don't make much sense, you want something but lack the resources to get the item, but you want someone else to spend $ getting it so you can play with it and decide later if you want to buy it....very interesting buying method.
