Interesting...initially I was going to post that an amp on each speaker is highly unlikely, but I looked at the 94 FSM and sure enough...it appears as such...very odd configuration and one I have never seen before. How accessible are the amps...are they mounted right to the speaker? My advice would be to find a way to by-pass the amp and just hook the inputs from the amp directly to the speaker as test to see if that resolves the issue. If you can find the relay, that might be worth trying to replace, or you could probably try to by-pass that as well as a temporary test. Looks like the g/w lead (green? gray?) from the head-unit is the switch, and the red lead out of the relay is what triggers the amps to turn on. I can't say how Nissan engineered their system, but typically a remote turn on lead is just a low amp 12v signal so I imagine no harm should come out of trying to hook g/w to red w/o the relay in between. I doubt those little amps are fused though, so do this at your own risk.
Looks like nicoclub doesn't have the 92 FSM, but here is a link to the 94 Electrical section...page 107 has the Bose wiring diagram. I can't imagine it is that much different than your 92 setup.
