That seems like a lot of wasted time and money imo. If you are going to go through the trouble to being this specific as to the type/brand of sub, I recommend you do some more homework as to how to wire it properly.
I have the full bose system in my car and it sounds almost perfect, it’s just missing the stock Bose sub. That’s why I ask. I’m sure with the thousands of pathfinders sold with the Bose systems, I can’t be the only one that has thought of doing this.
Well I have a bose system in it already, would just getting a bose sub with its own amp, splicing into the power and signal be enough? It would be running off the correct impedance. Or am I missing something?
I was kinda thinking the same thing, but was hoping not to have to do the whole amp wiring set-up, but I think you might be right about the adaptor, if it doesn’t put out enough power to the sub. Man, now I feel like I have to do this experiment if no one has done it lolastrorami wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2018 10:03 amYou may be able to do it if you can figure out which wire goes to rear amp for power. I quickly glanced at fsm but I am not sure if the factory HU puts out enough current to power a separate amp (bose sub). Another thing would be getting the low sound from the HU. You would have to tap into wiring somehow for just the lows. The adapter i used for my aftermarket HU has "extra" wires for lows for every speaker. Perhaps an adapter like this may help you. https://pac-audio.com/catalog/audio-int ... /aoem-nis2
You may still need to run the wiring to power the sub which may require some sort of resistor(s) if power is too great for sub. I am by far no electrical engineer but thats what I seems logical to me. Correct me if i'm wrong.
i might have to research that one because I had an infinity bass link back in the day in my 98 maxima and it was ok at best, never really got that nice sounding perfect deep bass like I did with the Bose subs I had in my g35 and murano. If the Kenwood can reproduce that, then it could definitely be a possibility.astrorami wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2018 4:33 pmsomething might want to consider is a powered sub like a kenwood ksc-sw11 or similar. they are very discreet and all you would need is the adapter with a single wire to the battery. it beats the experimenting with the wiring for bose sub. they sound great and are definitely not overwhelming.
There is no factory wiring for the lows. You will probably need a line output converter-->Male to Male rca cable--> speaker wire to female rca.
