I'm on my second sub, but that one will soon need to be replaced. I've checked with all the local audio shops and nobody has been able to offer solid advise. Is there a sub on the market that fits in this enclosure?

From my research, there's not really a "replacement". Most have added a amp and sub in the trunk. I think ppl have done a pioneer type low profile sub in the oem sub location and amp'd it, but that creates too much "rattling" i guess. Let us know what you find out and what you go with. I'm still debating what to do about bass with the 5.1 system. thanks! Bill

I think the easiest and best way to get the ammount of low end that you want (considering this will be your second replacement soon) is to disconnect the OEM sub, take the wires into an amplifier that accepts speaker level inputs and then get a real sub in the trunk and put whatever sub you want in that enclosure. That way you will be able to get a bigger sub and a more duarable one that will also be louder. If you are going through subwoofers it sounds to me like you are trying to push it too hard.

I use a Basslink, of course it's not as good as a dedicated sub/amp combo but it sounds pretty good, and the gain control is mounted by the shifter so I can easily change it to suit the song.
