Bose stereo problem (No sound from front speakers) 99 QX4

My 99 QX4's BOSE system has developed a problem.

The rear speakers work fine but the front speakers "Cut out". If i turn the bass to 0, the front speakers will work, however, if I increase the bass, the front speakers cut out and no longer work.

I hate having to use the rear speakers to listen to music.

Any ideas whats wrong here?

I'd check the tensil wires on the speakers. They are the wires that go from the terminal into the cone. Possibly when the bass is turned up the speaker is moving enough to touch together or it's touching the frame. Could also just need resoldering.

Worse case is that one of the speakers or amps is bad and causing the radio to go into protection mode.
