Living in the San Francisco Bay Area where there's sooooo many houses and NO roadway for them, I depend on KGO Radio 810 for News, and mainly Traffic on my 60 mile commute (one way ) so I know exactly which way NOT to go. Well my speakers have been giving me hell for the past month from popping and cracking, to making high pitched noises similar to those you hear from anti-pest machines. I know what the problem is-the amps. My question is does anybody know a cheap(er) place to have the amps fixed than the dealer? Peninsula Infiniti in Redwood City, Ca. quoted me $250 per speaker. Damn, that's just about $190 per speaker out of my budget.

I considered going aftermarket with my entire system because I could get a new deck, speakers, an amp, and some subs for about the cost of repairing 2 of the speakers. However after seeing pictures of other Q45's with aftermarket stereo's, I felt they looked like utter crap (sorry for those who have aftermarket but it's just my opinion). I guess I expect to dish out some $ for repairing the speakers but I think $1000 to repair all 4 is insane. Anybody know a place???

Before the summer, I had listed a bunch of NICO & Internet references in the article:NICO Forums - powered by ZeroForum » Infiniti Online Mechanic » Q45 Rear Speaker/Amp R&Rat:http://www.nicoclub.com/zeroth...94542

I had the same problem with my '91Q last year. I sent my two front speakers in and they came back a week and a half later. If I remember correctly, the cost was $75 per speaker. The recall didn't apply to those.

As mentioned before, there are a couple of threads dealing with this along with contact info for Bose.

Hmm...wow I created this thread months ago as a n00b lol...Anyway maybe I should update it.

I sent my speakers/amps out to Bose in late November last year and told them my rear speakers were from a 91 (though my car is a 90). The said ok immediately, dropped the charge for the rears and only charged me $75 for each front. Got em back late December and threw em in. EXCELLENT!!! Makes a big difference and it's like new again! Well worth the $150. They even 2nd day aired em to me upon completion at no aditional cost! Great service from Bose!
