bose speaker replacement

I need to replace the rear 6X9 speakers in my J30. I found a set of speakers from Crutchfield. Crutchfield information advised that I would not be able to replace the Bose speakers with another brand without changing the entire system. The radio in the car works fine just the rear speakers are bad. Has anybody replaced their Bose speakers with aftermarket and did they have any problems?

make sure they're about the same wattage or if u want better performance like me thenput an aftermarket head unit to allow for better speakers to go in

I had the same problem with my J30. I found that the center cone had come unglued. I reglued with RTF (i think) glue from the local home center and they are good as new.
