I have read countless threads on replacing the BOSE head unit or entire system but haven't been able to find one on just replacing the BOSE speakers.
I am comfortable with the knowledge of each speaker having its own amp (and have already ordered the brackets so that a can remove these). From what I have read the factory speakers are 1 ohm which is why you would need an adaptor if replacing the head unit only as it would likely have a higher ohm output. What I am not comfortable with is the ohm output of the stock BOSE head unit. I am under the impression that I cannot just connect aftermarket speakers due to the difference in ohms of modern speakers and the lack of power output of the head unit.
My question is would it be as simple as wiring the BOSE head unit to a 4 channel amp and making sure the amp and new speakers all have the same ohm?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
