So ... my front right bose channel blew recently and I'm looking to just replace all the front speakers and amp them seperately (pretty much trashing the entire bose system at this point except for the rear speakers).

I am looking to spend about $300 total at most on a set of speakers and an amp for the fronts. Any recommendations? (I'd like to use the current BOSE locations for the aftermarket speakers if possible, I do not want to have to custom mount any tweeters or anytjhing if i dont have to.)

(EDIT: Thanks LBC)

I'm totally lost here and really looking for some guidance from the resident experts (doc, apple, anyone?).

I dont even know what brands to start at, I used to think I knew the quality until I saw everyone elses setups in here, i've never even heard of some of those brands before I saw them here. please, anyone?

is boston acoustic a good one to stick to? i saw the sx50 and sx60 components for about 160 on amazon, are those the best bang-for-your-buck?? Would it be worth it to invest in the Pro60's?? I am a bit of a audio quality freak and would be willing to postpone if its worth it.

Infinity makes some with the proper ohm rating to use with the stock Bose system.

I posted about it a LONG time ago in a G35 thread.... Lemme see if I can locate it.

I am actually using a pioneer F700BT and am trying to abandon my BOSE system piece by piece ... I really want an independent amp/speaker setup for my speakers, i'm just completely annoyed and done with the BOSE setup. (I know i know i wasted 3 grand, what else is new)

How did you blow your bose system?

I have it too and have the volume at max with the base cranked and have yet to have a speaker blow on me...

Problem with what you are trying to do is that bose has special ohm ratings for their speakers so trying to find one that will work with the current amp/headunit in the car will be difficult. As AZ said, try infiniti.

Really you cant do a piece by piece swap. If you really want a crazy sound system ya gotta do it all at once.

i use an AVIC F700BT and am looking for amp suggestions so that i CAN bypass all the BOSE BS. Did i word that entire thing wrong or something?

just delete this thread ... i made a new one that is very clear as this one may have been misleading
