Check the speaker surrounds. I know my 99 max's rear 6 1/2 speakers were blown and it took me a while to fine the hole, so make sure you check everything, especially the surrounds cuz that's where those speakers are really weak. Check all the wires running to it and check your fuses as well. Did you say you did or did not want to keep your hu?

I checked my fuses they are all good, I also tried hooking up a speaker and it did not work either. Could it be a amp?

What have you replaced thus far? Do you still have the complete Bose system?

Yes, it could be the amp with a problem.....

My Left Rear speaker is "a-gonner" -- Not "blown", but I believe the built-in Amp is "fried". Infiniti wants $450 to replace the ONE speaker. Bose will sell me one for $150 direct from them. Can anyone tell me how to get the rear speaker out? The mounting screws are NOT screwed in from the bottom of the parcel shelf where I can get to the heads from inside the trunk. The screw heads are under the grille; I can't seem to get the grille off without having to "break" it. Any help will be appreciated.

eBay is always your friend. I can tell you right now that there aren't any amps posted in the Infiniti parts on eBay, but I've never looked for Maxima parts - I would assume that if you did a search for a Maxima amp you might find one.

Good luck!
