Hello,
I'm new to the forum. I have a 2002 QX4 with the factory Bose Am/FM/CD/Cassette.
About every 5th or 6th time I start the car, the cassette will eject, and I lose all my preset stations. Then about every 15-20 times I start the car, the radio will be completely dead. No power at all.
When this happens, if I remove and replace fuse 4 (with the same fuse, not a new one) the radio will come on and work fine until about the 5th or 6th start. Then the whole cycle begins again.

Any thoughts would be appreciated

Sounds like there may be a short in the wiring somewhere. I would pull the radio and inspect the wiring harness that plugs in to it for any fraying, damage, etc. A guide on radio removal can be found here.

Sometimes fuses can be defective, too - replace it with a new one.

Welcome to NICO!

Check for loose ground connections and loose screws at the radio. Try pressing on the radio face particularly lower left side above the channel preset buttons.

Was there any resolution for this? My '03 Nissan Pathfinder just started doing the EXACT same thing. I even changed fuses and it didn't help. Hope you found a fix...
