Okay, I've had my Coupe for two months and I'm pleased with every aspect but the sound system. BOSE just isn't what BOSE used to be I guess. I think the sound of the Premium BOSE system leaves much to be desired and I'm no where near being an audiophile. I just like good, clean sound. At low volume it's tollerable...but turn it up a little and it almost sounds muffled. I've tried turning down the bass and turning up the trebble and that helped a lot, but it's still pretty bad. My question to you all is where do I go from here? Is the problem with the speakers or the CD/radio deck itself? I don't want to swap out the deck since it's all integrated any everything. I'd swap the speakers if I was certain this was the problem. Has anyone done a speaker swap? Did the sound improve noticeably? Any info or recommendations on speaker models would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hey d,I've got a Bose system in my sedan and I've noticed the quality of the sound depends on the quality of the recording. I listen to tons of mp3's on cd's I've burnt and the sound is much better for the higher bit rate mp3's (192 or higher) or real music cd's. Forget the wma's with low bit rates. I think the Bose system sounds great but could use a better subwoofer, as the lows just don't shake me unless I really turn it up.Cheers mate,CW

There was a similar thread on this subject a while back.. bottom line is BOSE is OVERRATED! But I will say this, when I replaced my deck with an Avic D3, and adjusted the crossover frequencies and EQ settings, my system sounds a HELL of alot better , with the same Bose speakers. I know you want to keep the factory deck, but as in most cases, the factory deck is pretty awful. If you choose to replace the factory deck with a quality aftermarket one, your system will sound A LOT better!

For a 234 watt bose system what do to expect?. It's a bose, they make cheap home stereo systems and it's like the most generic system they put in almost every new car.
