In my 2002 I35, I have no sound coming out of my stereo. The stock Bose head unit appears to be working, it changes stations, CD changes, but just no sound. I already changed the amp, but same results. Should I change the head unit next? It won't be cheap. I'll take any advice.

Thanks in advance!

i changed mine when i had the same symptoms as yours but! i've read that you can do a reset of the hu by putting it in the freezer. check out the how-to section - i think it's in there.

While I've never heard of the freezer reset feature (I'll have to look at that, sounds interesting) I know the Bose units are glitchy. For the most part you either have a HU problem or the factory amp is not turning on. If it's the HU then you can try ebay for a used one or you can contact Short Circuit Repair which is a NICO sponsors who repairs the Bose units.

I'm having the same problem except that mine won't recognize stations when seeking.

Where is the explanation of the freezer reset?
