Bose Driver's Audio Stage

Any insight into the Bose Driver's Audio Stage function in the premium audio system? I have mostly left it turned on until my rear seat passengers complained that they couldn't hear the music very clearly even when the fader was adjusted to boost the rear balance. Turned Audio Stage off and the kids were happier. What does Audio Stage do? I am assuming it is some kind of DSP that is biased toward the driver's location.

I am generally pleased with the sound quality of the EX stereo. Great on CDs and iPod input is fabulous. XM Radio broadcasts are a little dull. They must suffer from a lot of signal compression but are okay for casual listening.

It adjusts the balance more to the left and boosts up the output of the center channel mounted on the dash.

I found an interesting link to Stereophile that gives an in depth look at the Infiniti Bose premium system. This review is of the 2008 G35 which should be the same system as the EX with Premium audio.

Appreciate the tip is was a nice read. I'm considering a power boost but I'm not quite sure where to begin nor do I want to ruin what we already have.

Great Link, I have long been a fan of the new sound system since 07 and there is a clear improvement in the 09s with a high quality recording. I never knew just how over engineered that system was, to be limited to just a simple on/off switch seems like a crime.

I did however find the chair I will be auctioning off a kidney or spleen for.
