Bose Cd Err problem. Need a fix please

Hello all. I've got a 96 Infinti I30 and the CD player died on me about a year ago. I finally got around to removing it and tried some of the DIY stuff online, but none of it worked. The player will take the CD, try to read it, but then it won't play and displays "Err" and ejects the CD.

I've seen Madchef's write up from Maxima.org, and that didn't work for me. Any other help would be truly appreciated.
