Bose audio system not really Bose

My cd player just stop working one day and I did a little research. Come to find out that the audio unit is a Clarion not Bose. Is that false advertisment or what I feel cheated.

Did you buy this car new with the Bose option, or used? If you bought it used, then the last owner could have just changed the faceplate with the Bose plate.

You'll also find some Nissan parts on your Infiniti ... it's the same concept.

I don't think it's the same concept since as far as I know Clarion and Bose are completely different companies. Infiniti is Nissan, it's the same company.

Yeah, Clariion makes both the bose and non-bose headunits in Nissan products. IMO, kinda explains the problems we have with them.

I have a ADDZEST (Clarion Pro) head unit that I brought over from Japan and I haven't had any problems with it, I think it's 4 years old now. Take that back, really Bass heavy tracks now causes it to error out. Other than that it has been a great head unit.

Bose does the acoustic response measuring of the interiors and develops the needed equalization curves for individual speakers.

Unfortunately a flat response is fine for sophisticated EARS and classic music.
