Do you think this is a standard part Joe or a local dealer would carry?

I'd be surprised if anyone had this "in stock".

Contacted Joe at Scottsdale, they also have it for about the same price shipped (part number 24028-3B300). Placed my order with Courtesy Nissan on 12/23, and its scheduled to arrive today via UPS.

Jesda - any update? And some pics, you gotta take some pics with that XM thingy as well, sans Jessica Simpson.

For anyone searching this thread...

Sounded iffy. Gave it away. Will be going with a Pathfinder or 97-01 Q45 head unit next time.

What do you mean? What was wrong with the HU?

Distortion at high volumes. Bass was cleaner but less effective.

Are you sure that it was the Head Unit and not the speakers?

I can't remember, did you use the bose amps and speakers with the aftermarket HU?

If so, I think the aftermarket may have put out a higher voltage signal to the Bose amps. This higher then OEM voltage would cause the amplifier to put out more power for each position of the volume knob relative to the OEM HU. This would cause the amp to reach maximum power earlier, on the volume knob, which would lead to the amplifier clipping. Which would cause the distortion you stated.

So, I think you may have solved your problems just by installing aftermarket speakers and powering them with the HU outputs.

I'm going to suggest you go back to the top and read what he was doing.
