I'm lazy and cheap so I bought a Bosch Universal O2 Sensor for my aftermarket o2 housing and it fits perfectly! and it only cost $60!

Now to wire it in.

My plug from my original sensor has a red, black and white wire. I know where the black (signal) and red (ground) go to, but the white one (heater) is only a single, where as the bosch heater wires which are also white have two heater wires.

So question is, splice both heater wires from bosch sensor on to one heater wire on my sr plug? or just pick one heater wire and put those together?

of the bosch wires (black to black, red to grey, and the two whites)

thanks!

What kind of O2 sensor did you previous have (the one with red black white wires)? Was it the fat type or the skinny type?

Also, SRs use 3 wire O2 sensors not 4. Get a universal 3 wire O2 sensor. If it was the skinny type you NEED to get the skinny sensor. They do make universal skinny types and also if you have the FAT one, you NEED to get the fat one 3-wires.

I had the skinny O2 sensor and just got the NTK (NGK) 3-wire skinny o2 sensor and the wire colors were the same. The 3-wire univ fat ones will have one wire for signal and 2 wires for heater. Polarity for the heater does not matter.

Yeah I had the skinny 3 wire one. With my new o2 housing I need a fat one.

So I need to find myself a 3 wire fat one? Wire it up, signal, heater, and ground? Or signal-heater-heater?

Thanks for the help!

ok if you have the skinny o2 sensor then you NEED to get the skinny o2 sensor because the skinny (Titania) sensors sends signals to the ECU in a different voltage range than a fat sensor (Zirconia). You are going to need something like this to allow you to run a skinny o2 sensor.

Oh and if you go to oxygensensors.com you can find a universal Titania sensor for a decent price. Its the same O2 as a 87 300zx TT
