Hey guyz, I just bought 4 Bosch Platinum + Spark Plugs for my 89 240sx coupe with a KA 24 in it, stock, and I also got Bosch Plug Wires, which are supposed to be very high quality as well. I was going to get NGK but couldn't find them anywhere. Is Bosch as good as NGK? And if not, is it that big of a difference? Both the items I got have lifetime guarantee's from Strauss. Are they stock or made for performance, and since I am going to swap in a SR20 in a few months, will I be able to use these new plugs and wires on that engine or will they be useless? Help.

Thanks in advance!

Luke

don't know why you wouldn't want to put new spark plugs into your new engine :-|

No, Bosch plugs/wires are bad for imports.

I've got a day or two to return them. I tried installing them and then I think I messed up the firing order or something and ****ed a lot of stuff up. Is NGK better? Do Bosch plugs mess up the car? I think I fried my distributor cap. Are they really that bad? Should I return them or keep them? Are they stock or performance, and if NGK is better, how much better? Worth the hassle of returning bosch stuff, finding NG, buying, and then re-installing? Is it worth the hassle? What's the difference?

PS - I finally got the firing pattern right or so I think, but now when the car turns on . . it idles very very very ROUGH, like a ****en 50 year older roller coaster.

HELP!!!

bosch wires suck, cause there only 7 mil. get some accel wires or something from enjuku. And dont buy platnium plugs. Imports burn to hot for platnium, and they suck. I had them, then i got ngk iridums. And noticed a big difference. Id say just get the 2 dollar a plug ngk if you dont have a lot of money.

Well, I installed them and everything is working awesome now. They give a nice pure sound, I'm going to keep them because I can't find NGK. The Bosch cost me 5.99 each, a total of $25.94 with tax. They were well worth it, and the wires are awesome as well. I think they'll do just perfect for my KA24 until I get my SR20. I noticed the difference right away, the car didn't shale a bit, turned right on and the spark was nice and clean.

stock Nissan plugs are NGK's, maybe we should give the guys who designed and built the engine and credit on thier plug choise? I've run bosch +4's in the past on my supra, and i've also run NGK Iridiums on my supra, (NGK's are also toyota's stock spark plugs) and after feeling the difference, i'm NGK all the way.

I couldn't find a place around me that had them, and when I was taking out the old spark plugs . . I cracked the insulation on one of them, which was horrible and made the car shake when it started . .I was forced to make an immediate decision.

For future reference . .I will keep that in mind.Thanks-GoShoryuken

NGK might be the best, but stock NGK's aren't better than my Platinum 4's. Bosch is a german company that has been doing this kind of ignition stuff for a long time, they deserve the respect, because when I turned my car on after the install . . I felt the difference.

Ok people, so lets have it... "WHAT" is better... and is there "ACTUALLY" a difference that you can feel??? hmmm... maybe my stock wires is crapp'n out and can't tell the difference. I think I should change that first. Oh and yeah they are still stock with 140k on them lol, surprised they even still work.

I cant beleive people are saying "german and japanese parts dont mix" implying that bosch plugs will not work in a 240. this is bull. the utter thought that a difference in brand of spark plug will make this much of a difference is pretty insane. the bottom line is, as long as they are gapped right, and arent corroded to crap, a spark plug will not mess up your car. yes, there may be small differences in power, but its small.

all i gota say is try running a platnium plug with nitrous or a turbo. Have fun changing plugs all the time.

Right now, I'm running an all stock KA24, so I don't think I need to worry about Nitrous, which is garbage anyway ,and Turbo, which isn't that great on a KA24 anyway. The plugs are awesome and that's my opinion, NGK are the best and that's my opinion, but when you can't get the best, you have to get the next best thing. I had ****ty "Split Fire" plugs that desperately needed changing. I think the Bosch plugs and wires will do fine until I get my Blacktop SR20. That's all there is to it.

thats what im saying black240. (thank you) this guy never said he was running nitro or turbo, he just asked if bosch would work. the truth is, bosh, denso, ngk, any of that will work as long as it is gapped right and somewhat clean. Sure, i bet if you were running nitro or turbo the heat might affect the platinum on the plug after a while, but this is the first ive heard of it. I just think that the whole mentality that "the 240 will run on nothing but NGK iridium plugs" is stupid. call me crazy, but thats my $.02
