anyone use this compressor bypass valve on their CA? im wondering if it will work well because that is a hell of a lot cheaper than a BOV...

A bypass valve isnt a blow off valve, it will leak, Bypass valves dont have a stiff enough spring and it will not hold the pressure of boost.

Sorry but i disagree. I have that on my car and it works great! They come stock on VW and audi. Mine was off of a Audi TT. The vacuum line at the top is key to it's operation, that and as long as you recirculate the valve you will be fine. During vacuum it opens the valve allowing you to suck air directly into your intercooler piping from your intake pipe without having to go through the turbo so it gives you better throttle response off boost. When in boost the Vacuum line and the internal spring hold the valve tightly shut allowing you to hold boost just fine. Think about it.. Why would it leak under boost? You have equal pressure on both sides of the valve plus a little help from a spring. I say it's a great buy as long as you hook it up correctly. That would be manifold pressure for the vacuum line. One port on the valve hooked up to your hot pipe the other hooked up to your intake pipe after the MAF.

I just assumed he would'nt recirculate it. If this BPV is recirculated it will work just FINE...but if its not recirculated it wont work near as well for you...

I never assumed that it was a BOV; i know the difference. i wanted to know if this was a reliable alternative to a BOV with a recirc fitting cuz it is way cheaper.
