I can get my hands on a Bosch Bypass Valve from a Saab in great condition....for FREE! The only issue that I am having is deciding how exactly I can mount it. I was thinking about cutting a small hole in a spare silicon coupling and using a high strength epoxy to set it since the bypass valve itself is plastic.

It will be a temporary setup to recirculate air, but, has anyone ever tried this? I'm only going to start out around 4 or 5 psi. I'm sure it will work for a few months, but, I'm just curious as to how many people have also thought about making a similar setup.

I don't see why it wouldn't work, except I wouldn't try to mount it in the silicone coupler due to the fact that nothing really sticks to silicone (except grease from your hands. lol). Instead I would take a hole saw and pop a hole in the i/c pipe and JB weld it in. You could always patch this hole later or replace the pipe or just a section of it.Good luck

This thing is plastic, so I don't think I could use JB weld.

Yep you could. It will stick, just rough it up with a little sand paper.

It's only my last resort. I may be able to get my hands on a 1g DSM bov and pipe that it was mounted to, but I'll find out by tomorrow.

I'm really crossing my fingers for the DSM, but if not, the Bosch recirculation valves actually work fine.

I know I'm bringing this back from a few months ago, but I am in the same boat with my RB25 and having to recirc the BOV to a silicone coupler. Did you use epoxy or JB weld to get the plastic fitting to stay in place? How did it work both looks-wise and reliability/seal wise?
