Maybe I'm missing something but I was looking up a new O2 sensor for my 95 240 and autozone.com sells a Bosch O2 sensor for 80 bucks while ngk.com sells an NGK O2 sensor for 20? I thought NGK's would be better for imports and such. if the ngk is 1/4 the price of the bosch, should i pick one up? is it better?

The price difference could be due to the fact that the Bosch is a plug and play while the NGK you have to do your own wiring. i.e. cutting and tapping/soldering the wires together.

I know that accounts for a price difference in alot of O2 sensors.

IMHO an O2 sensor is an O2 sensor, I would go with the cheaper one. As far as spark plugs, I use only NGK.

i see, thanks.is it just one wire that needs to be solder'd to the O2 sensor? I have everything to solder but ifs its multiple wires and such, i might leave it alone. . . wouldn't the O2 sensor being so close to the headers melt the solder?

sounds like i'll go with the NGK since its cheaper. . .

First, make sure you have the right NGK sensor!

The price difference is between the heated and non heated 02 sensors.

If the car is a 96+ then you need to spend the cash to get the 3 wire heated 02 sensor.

The three wires are designated for the heating element, signal, and ground.

If the car is a 89-95 then you can use the single wire 02 which is considerably cheaper.

The difference you are seeing is a Bosch 3 Wire OEM Universal kit vs. a single wire NGK.

Why is NGK spark plugs better? Do you notice better performance?

The car is designed to use them and they have different design than the bosch.

cool, i got my new O2 sensor, says NTK on the side, i guess NGK and NGK are the same thing.

for 20 bucks, it comes with the wire and a little rubber protector on the end so no soldering.

so yeah, for the price of a Bosch O2 sensor, you can get an NGK/NTK O2 sensor plus 4 iridium NGK spark plugs, not that you need them but nothing's too good for your baby ;)

now i'm trying to figure out how to torque the thing with the long wire on the end of it. . .

oh, i'm sure its stupid to spend more for these plugs that are just as good as platinum for a stock car but i've extra money to throw in the waste basket so. . . blah =P

Loan-A-Tool Program Oxygen Sensor Wrench Set OEM27110

did the link work?

basically a deep 22mm socket with a length-wise cut in one side to let the wire hang out from there. The NGK and Bosch both offer universal kits. The universal kits all have a crimp connector and heat shrink tubing in which case you'll have to cut off the connector from your old o2 sensor. On my 89, it's a pain in the butt to get to the sensor with the tool and a 1/2 drive, so i put the socket on it, and take an adjustable wrench and pry it out that way. Also remember the anti-seize on the threads!!!
