Born In Japan, Made for Cali, Sold in NY?

So I got a bit bored and figured i'd check if most of my SE features on my 1995 were factory or just someone who added them on.

I used this site and got just about every detail I could ask for - http://garage.projectraine.com/content_ ... mid01.html (everything on the car is factory)

but then I hit a confusing bit, it seems my model number points to my car being a cali model. Now, this isn't a big deal since s14s have the same ECU regardless, but i followed it a bit further and pulled up my vehicle history report. My car was sold a few towns away in 1995 (leased at dealership), and just about every owner was within a 50 mile radius of me.

How exactly did a cali only model get sold as a fed.??

Maybe it had options/colors that a customer requested, so the re-routed it's delivery?

Just thought I'd add in on this, my 95 SE was originally from California, and wound up with me in NY.

My 98 was also originally from CA, was sold in MD, ended up in NJ. Lol
