One of the guys in the San Antonio Z club has a Borla exhaust on his VQDE, not sure if it is rev up or not never asked, and it was disappointingly quiet. He has factory cats and headers. At idle it really isn't much louder if at all than stock though it does liven up when you open the throttle it isn't overwhelming. For my taste I like the Injen SES, Bassani, or the Motordyne exhausts myself. If you don't want anything aggressive then the Borla would be fine, but the NISMO is just as good and it won't void any warranty. If I am correct I believe that the NISMO will also increase resale value of the car, though probably not too significantly, since it's a Nissan part. Good luck to you and let us know what you get.

I have the NISMO and I gotta say I love it! Its not too loud, but you can def tell that its on at wide open throttle.

Nismo. Borla comes in too many pieces, and in the end the Nismo will outlast the borla. Both are sleeper and both produce a nice tone. and some may argue that Borla is true dual, but Nismo will be the better manufactured IMO.

I love the Bassani I just installed on a 03 350Z a couple of weeks ago. It looks kinda stock-ish but the 4000 rpm sweet spot had me looking for overpasses to rev it up while driving under them.

It is a true dual and looks like a bunch of pieces, but it's not bad once you get under there. Another thing I like about it is you *don't* really see it from under the car from the back. I'd rather not attract any unwanted attention from Occifer Friendly or potential thieves.

I used to have a Borla on my 04 350Z and I loved the tone. Very subtle on idle but when you go WOT on it, it sounds damn nice. The only thing is there are a lot of pieces to it so if you can get someone to weld the pieces in the right place that will give you a higher probability of less leaks & rattles. So if you go BORLA that's what I would recommend. I also had KINETIX high flow CATS + JWT pop charger as well so that added to the tone as well. Bottom line, all those put together it was a VERY NICE sounding system. My 2 pennies.

NISMO all the way. I got mine about 9 months ago - love it! It is just what I was looking for - quiet when I want it to be - and some attitude when I need it! Sweet.

Do yourself a favor - do not depend on youtube videos. Find one that you can listen to in person - makes a real difference.

Edit: just joined the Murano site and found this one too. I've got a '06 350zr 5AT. Murano is wife's DD. Love both of them for different reasons!

If you want the most amazing exhaust sound with a noticeable increase in HP, I would recommend the Injen SES. Nismo will help with resale, but it isn't a true dual and I personally think it is slightly tinny sounding.

Love my Nismo on the HR motor. The growl at midrange RPM when you lay into it is amazing. Even though it isn't a true dual, you can tell it's freer flowing than stock, it looks great on the car, and it will definitely last a long time.
