Hello,

Im looking into purchasing a Borla axle back exhaust system for my coupe.

I've read a few of the reviews on amazon and people say you also need to purchase a gasket seperately, is this true or would i be able to just purchase the exhaust?

You need a new gasket. I had installed my Borla at a fairly low mileage which allowed me to reuse the existing gasket. Seeing as you have a 2008, I would highly recommend purchasing a new one.

The second one is what you need.

I just got mine, a week or two ago. It came with some bolts and a gasket if I recall (although I forgot to take those to the shop with me haha). If you are having a shop put this on, they should have gasket lying around as part of their shop supplies, so don't worry too much over this, unless you plan on doing this install yourself.

In my own experience with it being a day old, it's quieter than my ebay setup from before, has a tad more of that deeper drone (a little more annoying than before) around 1500 RPM during normal acceleration. Sound might get better as it ages but for now it's just barely different, and less noticeable inside when driving with my usual habits, when compared to how my old eBay one was (more noticeable, less aggressive tone). I posted videos of it in my other thread "Walked out and SURPRISE" if you'd like to see what Im talking about better.

In all the youtube videos I've seen it sounds way more aggressive and louder, and possibly broken in better. So take my view with a big helping of salt.

Oh yeah i read your thread alittle ways back. s*** situation, people are just ***holes. My coupes taken its fair share of hits from idiots who cant master the ever so difficult concept of parking a motor vehicle, i've got paint missing on my bumpers, dents, and scratches, some are actually pretty bad like the person was turning into the parking space going 20 mph (obviously not as bad as what happened to your coupe) but yeah people are ***holes.
