From what I see this turbo is very similar to a GT3076R but with a much broader MAP. What do you think it compares to. I am also considering the Holset HX35. http://www.timsturbos.com/products-2.html

I am strongly considering going top mount over the winter. I will be racing a 08 Z06, a 07 911 turbo, and a 89 930 slant nose with my 2871 bottom mount next month and then I'll be tearing my S13 down for paint and possibly a top mount setup for next year.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

nzmoman was asking the same question...

there's a thread on the holset

zerothread?id=306724

BW k27.2 is also like the twin scroll gt30.

A 256 will hit 550 hp and have pretty much the same spool up as a gt30r.

As a sidenote, Tim is a personal friend of mine. Let me know if you want a turbo from him i can get you a good price.

480sx, I know you are running a KA-T but what made you chose the s258 over the s256. I think the S256 will be better suited for the spool up capabilities of the SR20. What turbine housing outlet and downpipe configuration do you suggest?

I chose the s258 because i plan to run daily 400 hp with the ability to hit 600 if i chose. Also my bud had a killer deal on the s258 that i couldnt pass up.

Its all your goals man. The s256 will have better response, but its not by THAT much. If you plan on making between 350-550 hp the s256 is perfect. 400-600, thats s258.

As far as your turbine housing id go with something like a .63 or a .70. The SR likes to rev so you will be moving a lot of air and you dont want much smaller. 3 inch V-band is the way to go, and those housings are pretty common.

LOL. I meant to ask how many psi he is running cause his torque to hp numbers are closer than most of the dyno sheets I have seen from a 2871r.

Dang. I hate altitude..its about 4,695 ft. above sea level here and I doubt my numbers would be that high at this altitude cause I was planning to use the gt2871r.
