depends on your budget. you could build a turbo kit for it and go all out..... or start with the basics like intake, header, exhaust. Id put my money into the basics and invest further on suspension brakes and a good LSD. that makes the car WAY more fun than just having horsepower alone

yeah, i'm kinda just building it as my money allows. i should be able to order my rebuild kit in the next week or two. i guess it's a bad time to find out but i read about some issues with the ka's streetability after it's been bored. do you know anybody that has done it? and yes a turbo later on is almost a definite mod. but right now i just want to get it back on the road so i can stop driving this cutlass!

little off your topic, but how much did it cost you to get your engine bored? I'm thinking about doing that as well.

dont waste ur money now if ur going to buy a rebuild kit now and then change later to a setup that can support a turbo save ur money later by doing it now and a cutlass is not that bad i had to drive a van when my car wasnt working lol

well i was kind of aiming for just getting it back on the road for now and wayyyyy later on going with a turbo. i'm still just getting my feet wet with imports, so i'm trying to take baby steps. and about the cutlass, i'll let you drive it for a day and i bet you'll be crying for your van! thanks for the advice guys, i'll keep posting as the build progresses.

total cost was like $87.50. that included dipping the block which it needed baddd. i didn't even know it said nissan on the side of it until i got it back. but i had a friend that told me about a place that was super cheap and nobody really knows about it, so the turn around time was about 3 days. boring the block was $10 a cylinder. i'm taking my head back to him also, he quoted my like $200 and some change to port and polish and rebuild it.

Personally when it comes to engine internals, stay away from ebay at all costs. You get what you pay and the vast majority is sh*t. Worth doing its worth doing right.

Ask your machine shop who they use/recomend. We got the rebuild partd for our 'E through the shop and are very happy with it. Cost was resonable also.Don't remember the exact brand though.

Spend the money now to buy parts strong enough for your turbo build.
