Not sure the official name for the part - this is the plastic strip with the beaded rail that the front of the boot "clips" onto.

In any case, I know that with as rare as boots are, these have got to be in even shorter supply.

I have one, but it's cracked in one spot, and bent in another. I've considered heating it with a heat gun to try and straighten it, but I'm worried about doing further damage.

Has anyone come up with any creative strategies for replacing this part?

Thanks!

you mean that piece with kinda a "ziploc" sort of thing that the boot zips into? it buttons onto the 4 snap rivets in the front and then is supposed to zip onto that one in the back. I sold my boot cover and I think I have that ziploc piece around somewhere, you can have it if you want.

Yes, I believe we're talking about the same part...

I'll definitely take it off your hands. E-mail me ([email protected]) and I'll make sure I cover your shipping/packing costs. And next time you're in Dallas, the first round is on me.

ok I'll email you once I find it. and I'll check the car at the yard to see if it has one too next time I go, though that may not be for a couple weeks.
