alittle run down, im looking to turbo my ka24de, i dont know what yellow red blue black top means? my car is a 92 vert with a 5 speed if that helps, have 110k the car runs great! no issues. i only want like 200-250 wheel, 5-7 psi on the turbo i have, its a to4de inlet .60 a.r and exhaust side of .63 a/r i know a fmic, injectors piggy back etc etc i know how to boost a car,

i have heard there is a oiling issue, i cant find this info anywhere, and i am now scared to turbo the car.

i only want low hp numbers due to me driving the car 2 hours up to work and back 2 days later and its a dd,

Ok... Lets start from the very beginning:1. COMPRESSION TEST YOUR ENGINE (you can buy a compression tester from SEARS or borrow one from AUTOZONE) check you engine and the numbers will be lower than 155. Rebuild the engine2. Redtop and Blacktop - ARE Sr20det motors (you dont need it)3.what you need:exhaust manifoldturbo (for your setup t25 or t28 )injectors probably 370intercooler (sidemount will work)BOVfuel pumplines for turboyou can get away using timing retard, and FMU or get a tuned ECUI dont know about oiling issue, the first thing which goes to my mind is oiling issue with turbos, that it needs a restrictor to prevent blowing seals...READ FIRST 3 threads CAREFULLY...

AND USE SEARCH!!!!

i don't know the guy very very well, only hung out with him a couple times. he seems very knowledgeable on ka's. i know he is building one for drag. but that doesnt mean he knows everything.

he just said if i turbo that engine it will blow up due to oiling. im thinking the car was owned by a old lady, then the transmission went, sold to friend of mine then i bought it i have put 4k in miles in a month a half due to highway driving to work i drive 350 miles to and from work in a week. then add the misc driving for the rest of the week.

i was just wondering becuase i do plan on adding some boost to the engine.

anything i shoud look out for or tips on what i should do different then a say a honda or a dsm lol. thats what i am used to working on, then i got tired of the honda f*** and fwd. and dsm's break to much, my stealth seems to last though everything though lol

Research/searching will help. As mentioned read the top stickies posts.

Just have to make sure the motor is good before boosting, then your tune will be key to it not blowing up.

a tune and a good soild running engine is A must when it comes to ANY moding of any cari just didnt know if there was anything different about these ka engines then ur normal engine. hence the oil question i did read the turbo for the newb im sorry it was s*** i already know. i dont get how many times i have to say it lol, this isnt my time adding a power adder to a car. i am just trying to understand this engine alittle more. like whats a common fail. llike the 7 bolts on dsm's have crank walk due to oil squirters and thrust bearing issues what do the the ka dohc version have?

Stock block the ringlands will crack. People dont' hardly ever go above 12-13psi on stock engine.

Anything below 10psi on good tune and correct setup should be fine assuming nothing is wrong with the motor to begin with. That's what you should have gotten out of the sticky threads.

I never heard of anyone having oil consumtion issues running low boost on a mild setup it all depends on what condition the ka is currently in have you did a compression test yet?
