well, now that I got my car boosting properly, I'm playing around with the settings.

I boosted to 21psi for about a brief second, then changed the setting to limit it. The knocking peaked at 15 accorinding to power FC, not a big deal. I just won't boost that high again.

However, tonight I went to grab a drink, I was boosting at 15psi peak, just like how I set it on the sbc id, yet my knocking peaked at 95

why did that happen? what's the relationship between the 2? how can I reduce the knocking? also what is a "safe" number for knocking?

Thanx for asking for me...Although you using factory knock sensor?Think I read in my SAFC setup that it's pointless with facotry knock sensor. In there setup it shows 27knocking at 1600rpm then like 48 at 3400...So I'm confused on knocking.

yeah, I am using stock sensor, I never seen this much knocking before. I think I even saw the check engine light flash for a second which prompted me to check.

A few threads back, I stated I been having problems boosting beyond 10psi. At the time I can redline every gear and still get no more than 15 knock.

Why you ask whether if it's stock or not? is stock not effective? Either way, sudden change from 15 to 95 is a big difference.
