Ok, as some of u know my last ka motor went bad under boost. So that started me to do a ka swap.I got the spare ka motor that was in my garage and swapped out the following parts FROM the bad motor:

Oil pan, intake manifold with the fuel rail and inj, entire turbo kit, clutch, flywheel and transmission, ASP pulley MAF and distributor

All went smooth, the motor went in and it cranked up. Idle was funny at 1st but it kinda smoothed out but its still not perfect like the other motor was.

As i went out for a test drive, i noticed that if i keep my foot on the gas to keep the car at a constant speed, the motor would hit and hesitate. Not really bad but enough to notice and wonder WTF is going on... I can hit the gas pedal to accelerate and it works fine, until i let off again and keep the pedal solid...

The next problem i encountered was seems to be the sound of a mis-fire but comming from the muffler..!! And its kinda high pitched at that...

I then went to stand over the motor at idle to see if it was a mis-fire, but the motor was smooth and i didnt hear any mis-fire... Now im confused.. i go back to the muffler and again, i hear this high pitched mis-fire sound from the muffler and its constant..

The only thing i can think of is the MAF when it was soaked in oil when the other motor blew the rings. After i got it home that day, i pulled the maf off and sprayed it with carb cleaner to get the oil residue off..

When i bought this 240 it ran perfect with the ka motor it had... My other ka motor that was turbo also ran perfect EVEN after it blew the rings...

So its not the motor itself. It has to be either timming issue or the maf is bad due to the ol resdue that mght have soaked in there that didnt come out when i sprayed it with carb cleaner...

I dont think its timming related cause it cranked up fine and the idle is pretty smooth at times... and i can boost at 9 psi and it doesnt mis-fire nor hesitate..

Maybe its the MAF....??
