whats up guys ive been working on boosting my ka. im trying to stay on a budget (that means im broke). the setup i will be running is a t25 dsm garrett pushing 12 psi mounted to a bottom mount manifold, a 3000gt bov and saab 9000 turbo injectors(i think their 260cc). the block has been rebuilt with jw s1 cams, bc oversized valve springs, port and polished head, and bored .04 This will be my first time turbocharging a ka. i worryed about a lot of things one being the maf. with this low of boost will i need to change it also what would be the best tuning method for my application. i do have a enpron chip preset for my setup except for larger injectors and a z32 maf. so guys what do u think will my setup blow or suck.

ok first off those injectors if they are 260cc are even smaller than oem "270cc"What is your budget right now?You need to turn boost down to 8psi and you can get away with a fmu $50or 12psi with 370cc injectors and safc. z32mafs(optional) and retard base timing 4-6degreesFor all aplications you need to wait a week, a day, whatever to at least get a walboro fuel pump.Better to wait 2weeks ot get extra $$$ for a ecu tune than to rush an dblow the engine. I would run an fmu for 8psi. Get use to the car and how it responds. Then when ready to upgrade to bigger power get an enthalpy ecu tune "$500" which will control fuel and timing

doesn't sound like you are on a budget bro, ported head, cams, rebuilt engine lol but that's awesome.

Along the same lines of Florida240sx, you NEED to get bigger injectors and a bigger mafs for 12psi. No question about that. Does the epron chip control fuel and timing? With a low boost setup and a tuned ecu, I don't think a walbro and a fmu is really necessary. I have a jwt ecu and neither an fmu or a walbro yet

thanks for the props but yeah i blow a lil bit to much cash on the rebuild, almost 4 grand. i do have a mass air flow that came off a audi v6, dont really know the spec of it or the engine its self in fact i really wasnt planning on using it. not really sure if the epron chip controls either. i got the chip off ebay, the company i bought it from tuned it. i fel stupid asking this but by fmu do u mean a fuel management unit like safc

safc is one way to do it. Depends on what your wanting. if you go for 8psi I feel safe with you haivng a walboro fuel pump and fmu, but need a wideband to verify this.this is an fmu http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW

Any questiosn you need answered ask me I'll help ya. But almsot everythign ha sbeen covered before if you search through our stickies up top and the search button But if your stuck or want to be sure ask me.

An FMU is a fuel managment unit. It is a rising rate fuel pressure regulator. Which means that fuel pressure goes up with boost pressure. They are around $100 on ebay. What you do is run an FMU with stock injectors and ecu and you can run 7-8psi without any other managment. You may need to retatrd timing a few degrees also.Good luck with your project.
