Pretty straight forward. You may have issues with intercooler placement pending the condition of your S13/S14 chassis. If the chassis is straight, installation should be easy. If not, you may need to "be creative" in piping location. As far as oil lines are concerned, I believe the IAP turbo kit comes with a non-weld oil line. You will have to go to the website for more information. In my opinion, you are better off getting a bung welded to your pan. You will need to figure out where to tap the engine for the oil feed (Search NICO, I don't have the thread reference, but it's here!) and you will also need to determine where to tap the oil pan for best clearance for engine movement and turbo drainage. You can also email Marc at IAP. He's a bit busy these days (turbo kit orders and shop stuff) but he will answer any questions you may have with this kit. BTW, he is a NICO sponsor and the link I gave you shows the NICO member pricing.

Installing oil lines is like turning a bolt.

Note, that prior to all this, it is best to clarify your goals and expectations of your car. Are you going to drag, drift, auto cross, etc? Then you will need to determine your power goals. How much power do you want your engine to produce? Since money is no object, you can start by picking up a copy of Corky Bell's Maximum Boost to familiarize yourself with performance turbocharging.

You can also take a look at this sticky that the moderators have put together as a turbo reference. Check it out:

Once you have determined your goals, carefully search around and look at other people's set ups. You can learn so much about what people are running in their KA-T powered rides.

Good Luck!

Oh, yeah. On the NICO forums, the Mods and the seasoned regulars all would appreciate it if you took the time to Search out your questions first prior to posting. Many of your questions have been posted before and all have solutions as well. Should there be any need for further clarification on anything even after you have Searched, feel free to post to your heart's content.

Oil lines is easy, right in front of your filter. I dropped my oil pan and cleaned it out to make sure nothign wa sin there. Then I welded the IAP return flange for peace of mind.

Do you know where to tap the engine for oil to go into the feed line of the turbo?

i installed a turbo kit myself and didnt know **** about cars only a semi picture of how a turbo engine looks installed. took me like 2 months to install it (was very busy person too) but in the end it was easy....the hardest part is keeping yourself together...getting scared or stressed ruins you...but if you want to know specifically, the hardest part for me was clearing a tangential turbo on a on center manifold, and i guess the oil pan because i didnt know what the hell i was doing. i blew the motor in 5 mins, but oh well..lol..(boost spike cause of crapy wastegate)

It doesn't really take that much car know-how to turbocharge the ka. The wrenching is easy in concept(there really aren't that many bolts and crap), it just takes a long time when you get stuck with something.

Also, if you've never done it before, you will spend 2-3 times as long as someone who's done it before. That's just what happens. Give yourself 3x the time you think you need.

I could go into detail about which parts were a pain in the ***, but I did a custom setup, so I had to fab all of the plumbing. I couldn't give you a review on the installation process of any of the mainstream kits.

Good luck. Don't be afraid to ask us when you get stuck with something(after you search).

I'd say consult with the mechanic to give you an idea of how the installation is going to go. He/she should be able to answer any questions regarding the installation of the turbo kit. Perhaps you can learn a thing or two.Like what was posted before, feel free to post questions on the site. There are plenty of people here to assist. Oh yeah. SEARCHING prior to posting is key.

you will run into problems, and you will get frustrated, no doubt about it, you will want to punch someone in the face before it is all said and done.the hardest part, imho, is dropping the oil pan, its a *****, and i hated doing it, i would recommend welding that ***** on, but if you do the nut and bolt thing, you're going to have to do some grinding to get it back on.another thing i hated was the i-c piping, overall it really isnt that bad, it took me 1 full night, working in the dark with one huge *** light, and a headlamp.still boosting 13psi strong with a t3/t04e .63 ar 50trim. ~290whp.
