I have wondered....With the SR20 engine. all oem, with oem T28 Turbo...how much boost can I get without blowing a piston or something?

I know that with my Audi, I get 1.5bar, can I get it with the nissan without harming anything?!

10sX for all of you!

the turbo will blow out long before you blow a piston. Although, if you're fuel system hasn't had at least an upgraded pump, you'll burn a piston up from running too lean once you pass 12 PSI (not sure what that equates to in bar)

So, if I will add a fuel pump.and the fuel will be enough, how much boost can I get?BTW, 1 BAR is equal to 14.7 PSI

it depends on the turbo. a stock T25 will top out at 15 or PSI, a stock T28...I'm not sure about.

Holy momma, 1.5 bar is about 21PSI. Hope you're not running that on the stock GT15 turbo.

The OEM T28 can go 15-18PSI before losing its efficiency. Any higher and you'll either risk detonation or the heat created by the turbo will void out any gains, aside from the fact that you'll nuke the turbo.

OEM T25s can go about 15PSI.

Adding a fuel pump is recommended for any SR swap. The Z32 pump can safely handle up to 500HP but more than likely the T28 won't be able to handle all that fuel.

You'll probably need bigger injectors if you plan to run more boost.

Do more searching and researching, you plainly don't have enough basic knowledge of the concepts to attempt such. All the information you seek has been posted here and otherwise a million times.

he might also not have a swapped engine. being from israel, he probably doesn't have a swapped 240.

Still, even if he has the engine he needs to do more research before thinking about turning up the boost. Otherwise we get a flood of "why did my SR blow up because I was an idiot" threads.

running 1.5bar should give people hints on how he drives.

The Audi Turbo is a K03 Sport...I was running 23PSI, all OEM, no fuel problems.

I don't really know the SR too good, that's why i'm here...We have only one 240sx in israel with the KA.the other 10 are 200sx with the SR. like mine.

SO, what you say is... that i need a bigger injectors and a fuel pump for greater boost?and that you do not recommand passing the 18PSI?

Running the K03 @ 23PSI will make it not last real long, but thats another story.

If you have the T28 turbo, with stock parts I would not go past 15PSI. If you do try to run race gas if you can get some.

If you want to push the limits of the stock turbo, get bigger injectors and a bigger fuel pump. Install both, have your ECU reprogrammed for 555cc injectors or whatever cc you get.

As always pushing things to the limits reduces the life of the turbo dramatically.

If you want to run more, get a turbo upgrade.

Whether you run race gas or not has nothing to do with the life of the turbo. That has to do with detonation. The efficiency range of the turbo is what is important; with a T25 or T28 they start becoming inefficient on an SR at around 13PSI. Past 15PSI it's become a heat pump and is no longer making power in an acceptable fashion. Running race gas is not going to change a thing, that is misinformation, as is usual for NICO.

Forgot to clarify race gas > detonation, thanks for clearing it up.
