I was just curious on what all would I have to get to make my 280zxt into a twin turbo...or would it just be better to upgrade to a t4 and increase the boost with a controller??

to add a second turbo would be the most difficutl way possible to add power to the S130

assuming your 280ZX Turbo is stock at this point, an upsized turbo could spell disaster

if you want to add pwoer to your turbo 280 ZX, first, cone air filter, then cat back exhaust, mandrel bends with a straight through uffler, then ....add an intercooler! then you can turn up the boost, without the addition of an itnercooler 10 psi is as much boost as you can run and not blow your motor, with the intercooelr you can run ti on up to 16 psi ro there abouts, this should get you to around 230-250 whp (keep in mind stock is only 180 hp at the crank!) if thats not enogh pwoer for you, the next step si where is gets expensive, you'll need to upgrade the turbo, injectors, ecu and fuel pump all at once as they are all pretty much maxed out at that point, also it's a good time to upgrade to metal HG and ARP headstuds to avoid the head lifting issues taht arize at high boost levels, then you can get up to around 350-400 whp before the pistons go boom, then it's time for custom forged pistons

Thanks for the advice...I'm most likely not going to be able to afford all of these upgrades at the time, until i find a new job since mine went out of biz.

As for now after i am going to rebuild the engine and everything,& i will probably just go with the exhaust and for-sure I'm getting a intercooler...everything else will have to wait for the near future

I have another ?, I plan on getting a HKS turbo timer and i was wondering could i wire that to a in-dash tv or lcd monitor, so i don't have to look at the super small display screen on the turbo timer??

Ihave no first hand experience with turbo timers, they are in general a waste fo money and cause mroe problems than they solve, if you let your car idle down they are useless, if you plan to run hard and no stop to your destination and shut the car off imediatley then they will let your car idle down for you, otherwise it's money that could be spent on somethgin useful

also remove the pp ff valve and put a pipe plug in place of it and if you plan to turn up the bost a BOV will help your turbo last a lot longer

Yeah, I didn't really think I needed a turbo timer just found one for a good deal compared to the other prices i seen, but man if they cause problems, I might as well just cancel out that plan....

as for the bov i already did all of that, but since i don't have a intercooler, i had it welded on the j-pipe, which wasn't that great of a idea, but I plan on replacing it with a intercooler very soon, and swapping the crappy Ebay BOV with a HKS SSQV, i already got a boost controller but didn't mess with the boost any since the stock gauge only goes to 7psi and i don't have a intercooler, so i didn't want to turn the boost to high and mess it all up so i got it at the stock boost

Yeah would be pretty difficult. Although I've seen a TT manifold for a L-series motor. With the right turbo setup there would be no reason to have a second turbo. It'd be more for show. I agree with dky about the bolt ons.

P90 is the factory turbo head, your engine does not say P90, maybe your head does but no blocks were stamed P90, the block stamping is on the base of the drivers side of the block below the motor mount, the cylinder head is marked near the bottom of spark plug #2

the P90 and P79 both are the highest internal volume cylinder heads offered in the L6 engines, also the largest valves, the P79 has sleaved exhaust runners, the P90 doesn't, the P90 comes wiht a cam intended for the turbo, which is basically just a bit more duration, and some of the P90, the P90A is the same thing but with hydraulic lifters

I ran 2.25 hot side and 2.5 cold side piping, you can use 2" hotside piping if you like, thats the outlet size on the turbo, oversized piping will casue more pressure drop and lag
