Hi I am still new to Nico and I searched but still did not find any thing so here go's I have a 95 240sx with a blacktop sr20 and it makes boost fine in 1st gear all the way up to 7000 rpm's but in 2nd-5th it sputters at about 4000rps and i hear poping out of the exhaust. It has no cat but smells like its running rich or at least it smells like a lawn mower. I know it has a vacuum leak and I dont know where. Any ideas? OH yeah its also for sale if any ones interested kc mo.

well the vacuum leak is prolly your problem, if you think its runnin rich its probably because of air escaping through a boost leak (after maf) so the engine thinks there is more air then there is. What i would do is make a boost leak tester, you take your maf off your intake and make a cap over the intake thats pressure tight and add psi from like an air compressor, listen for a leak and fix. the reason why you take the maf off is because i've heard that the psi from testing wich is normally alittle higher then what you would run, can destroy your maf.

if you cant hear the leak, use a spray bottle with soapy water. not sure about your intercooler, but on the cheap fmic i bought the pipes that connect to intercooler itself are cast aluminum. so there was a few pinhole leaks. fixed by welding.
