once again its starting to get a little cooler outside. and just like last year the boost on my rb25 is spiking. at WOT in lower rpms im seeing 10psi and when it gets closer to 6800 the boost wants to go past 12-13. im having to keep the boost steady with accel foot.

what could the issue be:-cooler temps-crappy internal wastegate-boost controler(possibly weak solenoid)-upgraded fmic and q45 tb??

thanks

what kind of boost controller are you running? a manual bc will not be able to make adjustments for cooler weather. if you're running electronic then it depends on the one you're running. alot will automatically adjust duty cycle of the solenoid when they see higher boost. and alot won't.

i knew you where going to ask that question. its some jap boost controller. its has an electric solenoid and a round dial to adjust boost. it plugs into my cig lighter and comes with a toggle swicth. the swicth toggles between stock boost and the adjusted boost levels.

well I would guess crappy internal wastegate plus the additional power from the cooler air. you could just up the boost to 13.

It's not your internal wastegate. It's your boost controller. With a good controller you can tell it when to start opening the wastegate, how fast, etc. Sounds like it's waiting too long to open.

i forgot to add. last year i too thought it was my boost controller so i bypassed it. I ran the vacuum hose from the nipple on the hot pipe to the wastegate nipple and still got the same thing??

what do you mean by crappy wastegate??

I want a avc-r!!
