Ok, I have to let you guys in on a little secret. This is the first turbo motor I've ever done. That being said I wasn't sure if this was a symtom of a boost leak or something worse. The other day on the way home from work(45min oneway) I made some pretty hard pulls. When I got off the highway it started to bogg down when it would start to boost. I limped it home and popped the hood and didnt see anything loose. This morning car ran fine when it was cold, but seems like its lost some power. As soom as it warmed up it started to bogg again. It was at about 20hg at idle and now its about 12hg. Checked the timing today for the first time and it was at 30degrees some I put it at 20 and nothing changed. I'm working on checking for boost leaks, but any input is appreciated.

The link that Virus posted is great. You should certainly do that, as it's a great way to diagnose if you have a boost leak, where it is, etc.... it's cheap and easy to do.

I am going to guess that your problem is something other than simply a boost leak.

I beleive I have a boost leak as well. However, nothing bogs down. If you have a boost leak, you should simply run like a Naturally Aspirated engine.

In my car, I hear the turbo spool, but don't feel much added acceleration. It starts to run rich (since the ECU is adding extra fuel to combust with the supposed extra air). When I let off the gas, and shift, I backfire since I have extra fuel. But, I don't bog down at all.

If you do in fact have a boost leak... It must be a huge one!

if you do have a boost leak, it must be pretty big if it starts to bog under boost. Your MAF will see all the air going to the motor but since its not getting there you would be getting the fuel but not the air. Although i dont know how you would be getting less vacume at idle. if you had a leak that bad you would be leaning out really bad at idle also since your maf would hardly see any air going through it

Everything is stock except for an turbo smart in cabin boost controller, aem ufpr,k&n filter, and walbro 255 on the intake side. Exhaust is a 3" catco, 3" downpipe, and 5zigen border max catback. I think part of the problem was the factory style clamps on the wastegate line. They were pretty weak and I think as they heated up started to leak. I replaced them with worm gear style clamps and it runs a lot better. Fuel pressure at idle with vaccum off is 42psi and 36psi with vaccum on. Timing set at 15 degrees. Boost starts to come on around 2800rpms now and holds strong at 10psi except in 5th it boost till 12psi. Vaccum is back to 15hg at idle and 20hg when I let off when cursing. I still get a little pop when I let off the throttle in third, but it popped a lot worse when it was na.
