Hey gang, can anyone tell me how to check for boost leak on the RB20DET. I am not hitting my full boost of .75 bar. I get to about .68-.70 and thats it.

When I first got the Laurel, it hit max boost no problem. Now it's not. I changed the plugs the other day...the old ones were shot...and I am going to do the fuel filter this weekend. But I am worried I might have a boost leak somewhere. If that's not the problem, the only other thing I can think of is the turbo is going. Not what I want to deal with.

So, anyone with some help on checking for leaks, hit me up.

So...you in japan or something Most of us are in the U.S.

Best way to find leaks is to listen for hissing. Second best is to get carb cleaner and spray the **** outa areas that could be problem matic. If the hissing stops or idles changes u've found a leak.

get a small piece of piping the size of the maf. Weld the other side shut with some sheet metal. Drill and tap a hole on the flat side so you can screw in a pipe to barb fitting. Then just connect a hose to it and fill it with a compressor. you can also put a T in and add a boost gauge. I usually fill it up to about 12psi and listen for leaks. a more accurate way to look for leaks is to spray all connections with soapy water and look for bubbles

Hey gang...just wanted to let you know I found the problem. The adjustment nut on my BOV had come loose and was at it's lowest pressure setting. I adjusted it a few times with some test runs, and we are back at a cool .75 bar of boost. Damn thing.

Thanks to all who tried to help out.

I haven't been right since I tried to pressurize my head.
