boost leak

when a engine has a boost leak why does black smoke come out of the exhaust and why does it pop repeatedly. also why wont it go past a certain rpm range

boost leak= running rich=blacksmoke=poping.

If u have black smoke no boost leak then trouble.

As far as rpm range thats do to not enogh air to compensate for the fuel so its a no go.

alright...and also why doesnt the steering wheel turn when u have a boost leak, my wheel was real tough it was like i had no power steering..why does it do that

that i cant really answer. U have power stering hooked up and all right.U talking while u sit at and idel?.

Do u know what causing ur boost leak?Check ur intercooler.(smic) if that what ur running if not check ur piping and all.

ya my smic hotpipe came off cuz i was messin with it. everythings fine now i was just wonderin what caused all of that stuff. thx man
