Hey guys,

So, i'll have to give a little history to help out. I went to the track with the car and it kept falling on its face. When I got home, I replaced the plugs yet it still had a miss. I narrowed it down to one of the coils and got it replaced. While the car was down, I finally got my p/s installed. Now, I started my car yesterday and it was idling kinda high and bouncing constantly between 1500 and 2000 rpm yet it was running just fine. I wasn't to worried until I tried to drive it. The second the turbo started spooling, around 2500 rpm, it fell on its face like there was a huge boost leak or the pipes weren't connected. I checked all the connections and everything looks good, idk what it could be! I havent had much time to play with it but I was looking for sugestions. It could be anything I guess, MAF, TPS, IAC, idk where to start!

Any help?

Thanks.

First thing- make a boost leak tester then make sure there are none.

If you don't have a air compressor.WD40 (becareful!!!! it IS flammable)With the car idling, spray it anywhere you think there might be a boost leak.If the idle jumps then you know its leaking.

Second- Clean the MAF with MAF cleaner

Make sure you CAS is snug.

Check your FSM and do the test for the TPS.

Try to switch your MAF with a friend.

I'll have to try everything when i get home. I forgot to mention before that I have an rb20 if that makes any difference. And what does CAS stand for, cam/crank angle sensor? Its frustrating, I wanna drive my car! haha.

Thanks for the info.

Yup Cam Angle sensor.Indirectly gives the ecu the Crank angle.Could be called either i guess.

Thats why you should def make sure that your Timing belt is on correctly. No skipped teeth or anything.

Well, I know the timing belt didn't skip any teeth cause when it starts and idles, it runs great, no miss or anything. Idk, i'm going to look at it now, i'll see what I can do.

I think I got it figured out. I went and started the car and while it was running, I unplugged the maf sensor and it didn't change. I took it off and got out the sensor cleaner and wow was it dirty. I put it back together and it did the same.

While I was in the car I noticed my SAFC (I know, not a good way to do a tune but its all I currently have) had some wires that were torn apart. I repaired them and then it was like magic, it idled great, rev'ed nice, it was a dream.

Then I got out and smelt gas. I took a look under the rear and sure enough, one of my gas lines rusted through

If its not one thing its another! Hopefully I can get the lines on tonight and everything will be fine.

Make sure you change ALL the rubber lines by the gas tank.

Also if you have sometime.Pour some of the gas you drained from the tank on the outside of the tank, then buy a can of rubberized undercoat and respray the tank.

Also getting the tank down is easy. Putting it back up is a PITA for some reason.

I got the rubber lines and made a new solid feed and return line here at my work and I just gotta put it all together tonight.

The car is problematic lol and i'm not going to worry about undercoating for now, they are armored lines and the rest of the car is rusted to hell anyway so i'm not worried about the tank. I need a new shell real bad but I have no place to transfer things. Its got a welded diff and solid mounts in the rear, it scares me when it sits sideways. lol I always think its going to break in half or something. Oh well, more reason to get another

But I have to find one for the girlfriend first, she really wants one what a good girlfriend lol
